You'll need to purchase a day pass for Bonham State Park. This can be purchased online. When you go through the entrance, you'll continue forward on Park Road 24, which veers to the right just a bit from the entrance. You'll follow this road all the way around. When you come to the stop sign, you'll turn left. The road then takes you to the main parking area. There are restrooms in this area also.

Bring a backpack, plenty of water, snacks, as needed, and hiking poles, as needed. Wear athletic shoes with a grip on the bottom.

No solitude time due to it being hot.

The cost is $10 per car. Once you pay at the gate, drive straight ahead, take a right, and drive to the end to access the trailhead.

We will hike ~4miles and then hang out at the lake. Look for blue rafts in the water at the beach and a silver Ford Explorer with a Sisterhood sign on the back window.

Bring lots of water! Bring your lunch and whatever else you need for a day at the beach… beach chair, sunblock, bring a raft/float.

due to the rain we have had this week the trails at Cedar Hill State Park are closed. So we will be hiking at White Rock Lake on paved trail

This hike will include solitude time (see FAQ) if we can find a non muddy place to sit

The trail is 9.4 miles, paved. Groups 1-3 will be doing all 9.4. miles Group 4 will decide on hike morning their distance. All hikers are free to turn around and head back to the trailhead at anytime. This trail is a loop.

bring: plenty of water, small towel/blanket for solitude time, snacks/lunch if you choose to stay after the hike and get to know other sisters

Parking: After you pass the pay station there will be a parking lot on the left…keep driving, go over the bridge. Once you cross the bridge you will see restrooms on the left, past the restrooms there is another parking area, park here. If this lot is full you will have to find other parking then walk to the bridge….the bridge is our meeting spot.

Arrive early to park and use restroom. We will do the raffle at 9:55am, followed by a group picture and instructions for the hike.

TRAIL: Canyon Ridge Trail - 5.5-6miles. This hike includes stairs, please bring trekking/hiking poles if you are unsure.

There is one portal bathroom at the trailhead, arrive early and get in line to use it!

Cost $7 at front gate.

Arrival: check your GPS arrival time, be inline at front gate by 9:30am! It is a bit of a drive from front gate to trailhead parking at Greer Isalnd.

Directions to Trailhead: Once you pay at front gate, take you first RIGHT on BOARDVIEW (pay attention it comes quickly) when you come to the Y in the road turn RIGHT onto Shoreline Dr. You will stay on SHORELINE until you reach parking lot at Greer Island.

We host a Christmas Party yearly and its also our end of year where we celebrate all our hike from 2024! Because of space we do require that all attendees to this event have been on at least TWO SISTERHOOD HIKES in 2024. So if you join the group right before the party you’ll be able to join us for the 2025 end of year celebration….Thank you for understanding.
